They are on a journey regards share all their joys and sorrows together going forward. After SHOBANAM, couple would inhale rapidly, at that time the sweet and natural fragnance from jasmine blooms would calm their mind. Other flowers preferred would be rajnigandha (tuberose), roses, etc., 

Flower vendors selling Jasmine are a common sight in pilgrimage towns in the state of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, etc., where the heady fragrance of jasmine flower has always been its most defining experience.
